Hair Analysis Banner 970X250 11-21

There are tons of resources out now regarding how to care for natural hair. During my time blogging about natural hair care for children, I’ve found that parents simply don’t have the time to sift through all of that information. Without the time to do research, narrowing down specific products and determining a hair regimen for your child can be downright frustrating. That’s why I’ve formulated this natural hair analysis.

If you’re new to natural hair and all of its complexities, being armed with the knowledge of your child’s specific texture/type can help you immensely at narrowing down hair products and figuring out a regular hair regimen. With this $9.99 analysis I will not only pinpoint your child’s hair type and texture; but I will also send you specific product recommendations along with information on your child’s precise hair needs.

Simply hit the button below to add the Hair Analysis to your cart. Once your payment is processed, you will receive a link that will take you to your questionnaire.

You’ll need to take the time to answer each question as precisely as possible in order to get the most accurate analysis.

*For part of the analysis you will need your child and a strand of their freshly washed, product free hair. You will also need a piece of thread. Keep in mind that in order to give the most accurate assessment, your child should be at least 1 year of age. Hair usually makes a transition to it’s “true” state by this time.

*Please allow me up to two business days to complete your analysis. If for some reason I cannot provide you an analysis within that timeframe I will notify you by email personally.

**I am not a professionally trained beautician. I am self-taught in the science of natural black hair.

Thank you, and I look forward to helping you and your child along in your natural hair journey! 🙂

Hello, we spoke a couple I times in the past but now that my son is 1, I would like to try your hair analysis for my son but I noticed it says I need to wait til his hair is washed. I just washed his hair on the 26th of January but I would like to get answers as soon as possible to why the sides of his hair and the back of his hair aren’t growing. I’m not sure if the sides are fading or not and the back looks like it’s coming in but very slowly. He just turned 1 on the 28th of December. I usually wash his hair once a month and co wash once a week. So I wanted to know since I washed his hair last week can I still use the string and freshly co wash hair this Sunday to do the analysis ? Also will you ask in the analysis what products I currently use ? Because I didn’t list them because I assumed it would be a question in the analysis . I must admit I have use a co home of diff products but I have stuck to the same shampoo since he’s been little which is the shea moisture baby shampoo . Its the conditioners and spritzer that I have switched . One last question is the analysis $5 or $9.99?

I noticed your service is for children’s hair. Do you analyze adult hair as well?

    • Kesha of We Got Kidz says:

      Hi Denyce,
      Great question!
My specialty at this point is children as their regimens tend to be a little less intensive than adults. In the future I plan on delving a little bit deeper into tips for adult natural hair care.
      Thanks!

My daughter is 3 xears old. She has a 4c hair and its very thin, fragile and dry. It doesn’t grow. I had to shave her hair couple of months ago because it was falling off. After shaving her hair I can see how thin her hair is there are party of her scalp that looks like it had no hair. She has more hair on the sids and the middle but the oder parts are empty. Please help if u can.

    • Kesha of We Got Kidz says:

      Hi Ikram,

That sounds unfortunate. Have you checked with her pediatrician and made sure that there were no underlying issues like a vitamin deficiency, or a mild case of alopecia? If so, and he or she gave you the all clear, consider these few things:
Is she sleeping on a satin blanket or wearing a satin bonnet EVERY night? Do you deep condition her hair each time you wash it? Are you only combing and detangling her hair with a wide-tooth comb when it’s damp and slick with a good conditioner? Does she get in enough water and green veggies each day? Do you moisturize with water or a water-based leave-in and then seal with a butter or oil at least every few days?
If you answered “no” to any of those questions, those would be great places to start at trying to figure out how to get her hair to retain length.
Does she have a relaxer? If so, that’s a whole other ball of wax…

      • ikram says:

Thank you for ur reply. Yes I did take her to her pediatrician but she didnt seem to be concern about it. My daughter is very picky eater I do try to sneak veggies in to her diet and She takes vitamins. I did mean to say 4b hair and her hair has 2 different textures. She uses the same shampoos conditions and my hair textures is 3b. Would that be the problem. I dont use oils, butter on her hair. What products do recommend for a 4b hair and does 4b be hair grow fast or low?do u recommend a certain vitamins?

        • Kesha of We Got Kidz says:

          Ikram,

Product selection with natural hair is all going to be about trial and error. There’s a unique combination of products that will work on your daughter’s specific type, texture, and porosity. My rule of thumb is if a product doesn’t help her hair to retain moisture for more than a couple of days and you don’t see noticeable growth after 6 weeks (hair only grows 1/2 inch a month) then it’s time to move on to something new. I give some great product selections for specific hair types on my “hair type” page: http://curlz.wegotkidz.com/hair-types/. As far as vitamins, I’d stick with a regular kids multivitamin.

Gosh I hope you can help me. I’m so frustrated with my daughters hair. She is 2 yrs old and her hair is soooo fine, short and thin. She still has her bald spot in the back of her head!!!!! it seems like it just won’t grow or thicken up. She has that curly spiral hair. It stays dry and soo uneven. Could you please lead me in the right direction as far as products that I should try. I shampoo and condition her hair once every week and I use cocunut oil on it. Could you please please provide me with a regimen.
    Thank you in advance!

Hello! My 19 month daughter has coily hair. (3c) with the most beautiful hair color (sandy brown to be exact). I only wash her hair with shampoo ONCE a month & I mosturize it EVERYDAY! I use Baby Don’t Be Bald cream (grease does NOT hold in her hat but weigh it down) & this oil called Wild Groth drops, mixed together & I seen it grown… But is there anything else I can use to keep it from drying such as mixing oils together (coconut, jojoba, black castor)

    • Kesha of We Got Kidz says:

      Hi Tonisha,

Keep experimenting! It sounds like you’re on the right track. There is no universal combination of products that I can share with you that I can guarantee will work on your little one’s unique hair type nd texture. It’s all going to boil down to trial and error. It sounds like you’ve got a lot going on. lol. Remember, less is more. I read a lot about the oils you use, but didn’t see anything about spritzing with water or a water-based leave-in before you apply the oils. If you’re not doing that, be sure and adjust your regimen to include a spritz of water BEFORE applying the oils. If not, you’ll run the risk of just sealing in dryness with all of the oils used.

      Hope that helps! 🙂
